Taylor Swift and John Mayer Avoid Each Other at Paul McCartney Concert Amid Relationship Updates
On March 28, music legend Paul McCartney kicked off his first concert of the year at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles, drawing a star-studded audience that included Taylor Swift. The former Beatles member also announced his first album in more than five years, The Boys Of Dungeon Lane, along with the release of his new single, “Days We Left Behind.”
While Swift, 36, and her ex-boyfriend John Mayer, 48, both attended the event, the two appeared to steer clear of one another. Photographs captured Swift chatting with fellow singer Olivia Rodrigo near the venue, while Mayer was seen with his own group. Swift eventually left through a separate exit, and Mayer was spotted outside, ensuring they avoided any awkward encounters.
The two artists share a history dating back to 2009, and Swift’s 2010 hit “Dear John” is widely believed to be inspired by their brief romance.
Meanwhile, Swift’s recent public appearances have shed light on her current relationship with fiancé Travis Kelce. At the iHeartRadio Music Awards on March 26, Swift arrived at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles alongside Kelce, where she took home seven awards, including Album of the Year and Artist of the Year.
During her acceptance speech for Best Pop Album, Swift credited the upbeat and confident tone of her 2025 album, The Life of a Showgirl, to the positive influence of Kelce, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs.
“I think that this album probably also feels very happy and confident and free because that’s the way that I get to feel every single day of my life, because of my fiancé, who’s here too,” she said, adding a heartfelt thanks for the support and “vibes,” a likely nod to her song “The Fate of Ophelia.”
Swift and Kelce began dating in the summer of 2023 and made their relationship public when she attended a Chiefs game that September. The couple got engaged on August 26, 2025, and while no wedding date has been announced, reports suggest they plan to marry this summer at the Ocean House resort in Rhode Island.
