SAVANNAH, Ga. (WSAV) — Despite her death in 1964, board members of the Flannery O’Connor Childhood Home and Museum continue to celebrate her heavenly birthday each year.
On Sunday, a 101st birthday celebration was held in Lafayette Square — a few yards away from her home.
“Flannery O’Connor is one of the greatest writers in the English language,” Museum Board President Lee Griffith said. “She was born here in Savannah, Georgia, and grew up until her teenage years right on Lafayette Square.”…
