MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) -A large crowd gathered at Blessed Sacrament, a Catholic church in Madison, to celebrate Palm Sunday on March 29.
Church leaders kicked off the Holy Week with a 10:30 a.m. mass outside the church to celebrate Jesus’s entry into Jerusalem. With palms in hand, attendees sang and listened to readings on the lawn before heading back inside to finish the mass.
Father Mark Niehaus said it’s fun to start the Holy Week with this special mass.
“So it’s one of the few times we get to live out something that we hear,” Niehaus said. “We come into the church with the palms, and so it’s such a beautiful time to be part of a gospel.”…
