After 90 years of opening its doors at sunrise, Convention Grill in Edina is finally setting an alarm. Starting April 1, the historic diner will serve breakfast for the first time, rolling out a morning lineup that includes eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy, a Florentine frittata, a s’mores Belgian waffle, and a “sunnyside” burger that the team describes as a croque-madame-meets-hamburger. The shift into earlier hours is being led by the diner’s first-ever executive chef, Elliott Jones.
