Storm Track 3 Forecast: Gusty winds, fire danger Saturday. Heat returns Sunday

A chilly morning in Kansas with some places falling below freezing overnight. You may want a jacket especially early, but we turn milder through the day.

Winds are going to be strong again, particularly to the west with peak winds arriving quickly in the late morning. Some gusts to 55 MPH are possible.

A Wind Advisory covers portions of central Kansas through 7 PM.

The gusty winds promote widespread critical fire danger through Kansas.

Fire Weather Warnings cover much of the area through 10 PM.

Temperatures this afternoon rise into the 60s with 70s farther west.

Overnight will be less chilly with lows in the 40s.

The gustiest winds align toward areas near and east of the turnpike Sunday.

Temperatures rise quickly Sunday, with 70s and 80s returning. A few spots will be pushing 90 to the west.

Temperatures continue to spike Monday. Some areas make another run to the 90s.

Another strong cold front arrives Tuesday.

With the arrival of Tuesday’s front, the pattern becomes generally more aligned for shower and storm chances, with several small disturbances passing through during the later half of the week.

While moisture will be in limited supply, we may see at least a few chances to pick up some rain through next weekend.
