Reclaiming love: group of Christians march through downtown Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) -This Palm Sunday, Christians of many faith backgrounds met in Sioux Falls for a unique event called “Love on the Way”, as part of a national movement.

It’s no secret that Americans feel more divided now than ever. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) hoped to “reclaim Jesus in the public square,” using love as an alternative to the divisions in the country. What began in Minnesota has turned into faith actions in seventeen different states, including South Dakota.

“There are lots of different voices in this world that claim power and authority and so this is one talking about how Jesus reigns and in his reign, he comes as the king of love,” described Peace Lutheran Church Associate Pastor of Outreach and Worship Alex Smith. “He comes to feed and to welcome and to heal.”…
