Crews rescue injured hiker from mountain in Scottsdale

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Firefighters rescued a hiker Sunday morning after he injured his knee on a Scottsdale mountain trail.

Just after 8 a.m., crews responded to Tom’s Thumb Trailhead on reports of a 39-year-old man who could not safely leave the trail on his own, according to the Scottsdale Fire Department.

Rescuers used specialized technical rescue e-bikes to reach the man. Crews then used a helicopter hoist to lift him off the mountain and transport him to an awaiting ambulance…
