Firefighters, EMS, and law enforcement responded to a water rescue at Liberty Reservoir around 11:41 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Witnesses reported a person went over the side of the Route 32 bridge. Crews from Gamber, Reese, and Sykesville worked together to reach the victim, while police temporarily closed the bridge to traffic. Rescue swimmers brought the person safely to shore, and EMS transported them to Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. The helicopter initially requested was later cancelled, and the bridge reopened once the scene was cleared.
