SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCBD) — Thousands of residents and visitors filled the Flower Town District this weekend for the 53rd annual Flowertown Festival. The event, held at Azalea Park along Main Street, is one of Summerville’s signature spring traditions bringing the community together while raising money for the Summerville Family YMCA.
Organizers say even with cooler temperatures, turnout remained strong throughout the day.
“So far it’s been great yesterday was busy a hot day yesterday today’s a little chilly, but it’s still a lot of smiling faces. Everybody started a trickling from the bridge run but seen a lot of families come out a lot of people enjoying the food buying some crap so it’s a great day from town right now,” said Franky Staropoli, chair of the YMCA board…
