Lowcountry singer shares story of resilience during Sunday performance

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – A local student, who overcame homelessness as a child, is celebrating and sharing her story of resilience with the community.

Imani Anderson-Broughton recently graduated from the Allegro School of Music in North Charleston. She says she found a love for music at a young age, as it played a role in her faith and personal life.

After experiencing homelessness multiple times and as early as eight years old, Imani says music, her family, teachers and peers helped her stay strong in her most difficult moments…
