Dennis Orda Thrasher was born March 10, 1885, in Indiana, the son of James N. Thrasher, born March 16, 1853, in Ohio, and Elmira “Myra” Clarica (Thompson) Thrasher, born 1858 in Indiana. This couple was married December 31, 1877, in Indiana.
After their marriage, the couple moved to Brown Township, as James had bought ground and began farming. A son, Clarence Clitton Thrasher, was born July 14, 1878, followed by the birth of Edna in June 1880, Arthur Ray on April 28, 1882, Ollie in 1883, Dennis in March 1885, Orra in December 1888, and Blanche A. on July 23, 1889.
On December 12, 1889, James passed away. He was buried in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Putnam County…
