LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Barret Avenue business owners said they were surprised to hear an option to add a bike lane was in the cards for changes to the Barret Avenue Corridor. They told WHAS11 they learned about this proposed change at a meeting last Tuesday.
Louisville Metro Public Works said the Tuesday meeting was a follow up to a community meeting from December 2023. According to a page for Public Works on Louisville Metro’s website, at the meeting in 2023, the Metro ‘facilitated a conversation with community members to collect ideas and assess the need for safety and quality of life improvements along the corridor’.
