MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Two of the three No Kings protesters arrested by Memphis Police were released from 201 Poplar on Sunday afternoon. Following their release, they talked exclusively with Action News 5 about their arrests.
Adam Nelson said he was arrested after trying to intervene when police detained another protester. Action News 5 video on the scene shows Nelson talking with officers before being handcuffed.
“I saw the police moving in and threatening folks, arresting folks. I didn’t want them to take that person away, so I said, ‘Let them go, let them go.’ They did not like hearing that, so they arrested me as well,” Nelson said…
