Midday Street Bloodshed: Three Stabbed Outside Brownsville Housing Hub

Midday turned violent in Brownsville on Sunday when three people were stabbed just before 1 p.m. on a Brooklyn street near Dumont Avenue and Powell Street, police said. Officers arriving at the scene found all three victims bleeding in the roadway outside a cluster of public housing developments. The NYPD said the attacker took off from the area and remains at large, and no arrests had been made as of the initial report.

According to PIX11, the victims included a 25-year-old woman stabbed in the abdomen, a second woman who suffered stab wounds to her back and buttocks, and a 23-year-old man stabbed in the torso. PIX11 reports that all three were taken to nearby hospitals, where they were listed in stable condition, citing information provided by the NYPD.

The attack unfolded on Dumont Avenue near Powell Street in the Brownsville section of Brooklyn, steps from several public housing developments and the Van Dyke Playground. NYPD detectives have opened an investigation into the midday stabbing and are asking anyone who saw something, or knows something, to come forward.
