A 28-year-old New Jersey man is in custody following a violent Wednesday night encounter that left a local woman dead. Enoch Rembert faces a first-degree murder charge in the killing of 51-year-old Lisa Mellet, according to a joint announcement by Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAulay and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez.
The incident unfolded late on March 25. First responders were called to the intersection of 5th Street and Erie Street at approximately 11:29 p.m. after reports surfaced of a woman lying unconscious in the road.
