I-Team: Documents Show Amrit Issues Tied to Original Zoning and Developer Changes

RIVIERA BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A growing number of lawsuits and newly uncovered records are raising serious questions about how the luxury Amrit Ocean Resort on Singer Island was approved and whether buyers were misled about what they were purchasing.

Last month, CBS12’s I-Team exposed mounting legal issues surrounding the high-end development. Buyers who spent millions on units say they believed they were purchasing permanent residences, but city records show the property was approved as a resort hotel, not a traditional condominium. That distinction is now at the center of multiple lawsuits and growing frustration among residents.

For more than a year, residents say they have been trying to obtain key building documents. Some claim they were forced to file lawsuits just to access records they believe should be public.
