WASHINGTON (7News) — The U.S. Department of Education is opening a Title IX investigation of Fairfax County Public Schools to examine whether the school district discriminated on the basis of sex by failing to respond to multiple reports that a male student sexually assaulted female students at Fairfax High School during the 2025-2026 school year.
The U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) sent a letter to the district about the investigation.
