UNION CITY, MI — Two days after an EF3 tornado struck Union City, survivors and volunteers found a brown and white cat trapped underneath piles of drywall and pink insulation.
It was Doobie, a brown and white cat trapped in the wreckage of Scott and Keri Johnson’s home on Prairie Rose Lane. Doobie was one of three cats the Johnsons owned. The other two cats are still missing.
Doobie was one of the Johnson family’s cats. The Johnsons were hosting a card game the afternoon of the tornado with friends William “Bill” Akers and Penni Joe Guthrie.
