Scooter Swinging Crew Jumps Teens On Bronx 2 Train

Nine people are being sought after what police describe as a violent group robbery aboard a northbound 2 train at the Bronx Park East station on Thursday evening. Three young men, two 18-year-olds and a 19-year-old, were assaulted and left with minor injuries, including a cut to the head. Investigators say the group stole phones and other belongings before fleeing.

In a wanted bulletin posted March 29 by NYPD Crime Stoppers, detectives say the attack unfolded at about 6:50 p.m. inside a northbound 2 train at Bronx Park East. According to the post, nine unidentified individuals approached the three victims, then began punching and kicking them and hitting them with a scooter. One suspect displayed a knife and slashed an 18-year-old victim in the head.

Police say the crew forcibly took two cell phones, a backpack and a pair of headphones from two of the victims. All three young men were treated for minor injuries. Crime Stoppers is asking anyone with information to direct message @NYPDTips or call 1-800-577-TIPS, noting that tips leading to an arrest and indictment may qualify for a reward of up to $3,500.
