Indy man charged with selling the fentanyl that caused Carmel man’s fatal overdose

CARMEL, Ind. — An Indianapolis man is behind bars after police say he sold fentanyl-laced drugs to a Carmel man who later overdosed on the narcotics and died.

Kendall Stott, 51, was arrested on Friday and booked into the Hamilton County Jail without bond on one count of dealing a controlled substance resulting in death. His initial court hearing is scheduled for Monday afternoon.

The felony charge filed against Stott stems from the overdose death of 31-year-old Michael Lee Kelleher in May 2025. Court documents filed last week in Hamilton Superior Court 2 allege that Stott sold Kelleher the drugs that would eventually kill him…
