(InvestigateTV) — A nonprofit mental health treatment facility says it takes its menu seriously, offering farm-to-table meals.
Chef’s recovery inspires mission
Chef Sam Diminich has more than 10 years’ sobriety and said food helped him get there.
“Whenever I was going through the early recovery process, I found myself in treatment centers, and food played a big role in my healing process,” Diminich said. “I just recalled feeling just so isolated and alone in the early recovery process and I remember when I would look down at a well-curated plate of food I knew that I wasn’t alone and somebody put their heart and soul into it and that meant a lot to me.”
Diminich now organizes three meals a day, plus a snack, at Hopeway. Area farmers provide fresh food and the chef uses those ingredients to come up with meals that help patients get to a better place…
