SLED report details criminal history of man accused in Spartanburg motel shooting, child abduction

SPARTANBURG, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – FOX Carolina is taking a closer look at the criminal history of a man accused of abducting his two children after shooting his wife at a Spartanburg motel.

According to the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, Juan Carlos Morales, 30, was most recently convicted of second-degree domestic violence in 2024. Records show he was sentenced to three years, with credit for time served and the remainder suspended in favor of two years of probation.
