Greenville County plans to develop first new park in 15+ years

GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — Greenville County leaders are planning what could become the county’s first new public park in more than 15 years.

While officials plan for the development, they want to hear from the community.

The proposed site sits on Adams Mill Road in Simpsonville, at the former Oakland Plantation.

The 52-acre property holds a lot of history, including one of the oldest homes in Greenville County, dating back to the 1820s. Also on the property is one of only three known cabins where enslaved people lived in the county…
