Cumberland County Standoff Ends in Arrest After Shots Fired

A domestic incident involving gunfire led to a tense standoff and arrest in Cumberland County’s Village of Grantham Friday (March 27), after a man barricaded himself inside a home before eventually surrendering to police.

James Adams, 55, of Mechanicsburg, is charged with attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and recklessly endangering another person. He was taken to Cumberland County Central Booking for arraignment following his surrender.

According to FOX43, Upper Allen Township police were dispatched around 6 p.m. to the 300 block of Hemlock Road after receiving reports of a domestic incident with shots fired. When officers arrived, they found evidence that at least one shot had been fired before police got to the scene…
