At 1:50 a.m., officers responded to a report of shots fired at Bergenline Avenue and 44th Street and located Pulgarin with gunshot wounds, Mello said. He was transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after 2:30 a.m., Mello said.
