New family homeless shelter in Kalamazoo sets opening date: 5 things to know

KALAMAZOO, MI — The Landing Place, a new shelter for families with children, is set to open its doors to people soon.

Kalamazoo County is leading the project to convert a former Country Inn & Suites hotel at 1912 E. Kilgore St. into a shelter with about 80 rooms for families with children.

Here are five things to know about the new homeless shelter:

1. It will open to families in May
