A 59-year-old former Ocala clinic employee, accused of diverting more than $1 million into an old business account and using the funds to cover personal expenses, has pleaded not guilty.
Back in December 2025, the Ocala Police Department received a report that a previous employee at Ethos Health Group (1541 SE 17th Street in Ocala), identified as Jean Ann Gonzalez, had allegedly stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars from the company.
While working for the clinic, Gonzalez reportedly had access to an old business account that was supposed to have been closed. The clinic informed OPD that Gonzalez had been hired back in 20212, and her employment was terminated in July 2025 after it was allegedly discovered that she had stolen over $100,000 in company funds from a “sister business” located in Lake City, according to the arrest report…
