Man accused of attacking person with axe in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — A man was taken into custody after being accused of attacking a person with an axe in Providence Monday.

Police said they responded to a report of a felony assault on Smith Street. NBC 10 saw a police cruiser outside of St. Patrick Academy.

Officers said they found the suspect, identified as 28-year-old Jehvine Quaweay, near where the alleged assault happened.
