Authorities are investigating the death of a 51-year-old man whose body was discovered last Monday afternoon on a conveyor belt at a recycling facility in Fontana.
Deputies with the San Bernardi- no County Sheriff ‘s Department responded at approximately 4:22 p.m. March 16 to the West Valley Material Recovery Facility in the 13000 block of Napa Street after receiving a medical aid call. When deputies arrived, they were joined by personnel from the San Bernardino County Fire Department, who also responded to the scene. At the facility, first responders located a deceased adult male on a recycling conveyor belt. According to authorities, the man’s body was discovered beneath other refuse being processed at the site.
The Sheriff ’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail was notified and responded to the location, where detectives assumed control of the investigation. Investigators worked to document the scene and gather evidence to determine how the man came to be on the conveyor system…
