RICHMOND, Va. (WAVY) – Tickets are now on sale for the Tidewater Current, a new Virginia Breeze intercity bus route scheduled to launch April 20. The service marks the first east-west transit option in the network, connecting Virginia Beach and Hampton Roads with Richmond, Charlottesville and the Shenandoah Valley.
The Tidewater Current is the fifth route added to the Virginia Breeze Bus Lines and the fourth to launch within the last six years. This expansion comes as the state-run transit system reports steady growth, with more than 68,000 passengers transported in 2025, a 5% increase over the previous year.
The new Tidewater Current route includes stops at:
- Harrisonburg – Godwin Transit Center
- Virginia Beach Convention Center
- Norfolk – Military Highway Park & Ride
- Newport News – Newport News Transportation Center
- Williamsburg – Williamsburg Transportation Center
- New Kent – Colonial Downs / Rosie’s Gaming Emporium
- Richmond International Airport
- Richmond Main Street Station
- Charlottesville – Scott Stadium
- Staunton – Crossing Way Park & Ride
