A Sunday night shooting in South Sacramento left a man with serious injuries and a neighborhood on edge after gunfire erupted near Florin Road and 24th Street just before 10 p.m., according to police. Officers arrived to find a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound and rushed him to a hospital, where he was listed with serious injuries. With help from an air unit circling overhead, officers later located and detained a person wanted in connection with the shooting and recovered a firearm near the scene, police said.
As reported by KCRA, the Sacramento Police Department said officers were dispatched after multiple reports of shots fired in the area Sunday evening. Police have not said what may have led up to the gunfire, whether the victim and the detained person knew each other, or released the identity of the individual taken into custody, according to the station, which based its account on information from Sacramento PD.
Florin Road Stretch Has Seen Trouble Before
