Two Tallahassee shootings overnight injure five; police say no ongoing public threat

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Two separate shootings in Tallahassee early March 29 left five people with non-life-threatening injuries, according to preliminary information from the Tallahassee Police Department.

The first incident was reported at about 2:10 a.m. on Sunday, March 29th, in the 400 block of W. College Avenue. The Florida State University Police Department was in the area when a physical altercation occurred. As officers intervened to break up the fight, a gunshot was heard. Shortly afterward, an adult male believed to have been involved in the altercation was found with a gunshot wound. Police said the injury was determined to be non-life-threatening.

The second shooting was reported at about 3:36 a.m. on Sunday, March 29th, in the 500 block of Osceola Street. Tallahassee police officers near the Bond Community heard multiple gunshots and responded to the area, where they found a large crowd gathered for a house party.
