Company that built troubled sludge dryer sues Onondaga County to keep contract details secret

Syracuse, N.Y. – The company that built the troubled sewage sludge dryer for Onondaga County has sued to stop the county from releasing information about the dryer contracts to syracuse.com | The Post-Standard.

Wendel Energy Services says that releasing figures and estimates from the contracts it signed with the county would reveal business secrets and give its competitors inside information.

The lawsuit stems from a Freedom of Information Law request filed by syracuse.com | The Post-Standard last June for all contracts the county signed with Wendel. Syracuse.com routinely requests and receives contracts signed between public agencies and companies working for those agencies…
