2 charged in Robbinsdale golf club attack tied to road rage incident

A man was beaten with a golf club and had his keys stolen after he intervened in a road rage incident that halted traffic in downtown Robbinsdale last week, according to new criminal charges.

Patience Jentzen, 31, of Fridley, and Clarence Lyons, 37, of Minneapolis, are both charged with second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon in connection with the March 23 incident, which shut down a busy stretch of West Broadway around 6:30 p.m. Jentzen is additionally charged with first-degree aggravated robbery.

“While under arrest in the back of the squad vehicle, [Jentzen] and [Lyons] made spontaneous utterances of, ‘He got what he deserved,'” charges allege.

According to the criminal complaint, Jentzen was driving a brown sedan and Lyons was riding passenger when Jentzen sped past a red sedan, moved in front of the vehicle and slammed on the brakes – bringing both vehicles to a stop…
