Teen Brawl Chaos Swarms Bayshore Mall, Cops Flood Scene

What was supposed to be a normal Sunday at Bayshore Mall turned into a chaotic scene as hundreds of teens gathered and several fights broke out, drawing a heavy law-enforcement response and turning the North Shore shopping center into a de facto crowd-control zone for hours.

Dozens of police squads rolled into the Glendale mall Sunday afternoon as officers worked to break up the large groups and repeatedly ordered people to leave the property. Authorities spent hours trying to disperse the crowd and clear the walkways.

TMJ4 crews on scene captured multiple fights and reported that Glendale Police, the Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office and mall security all responded, and that at least one person was detained. Violence-prevention groups were also present into the evening, helping guide young people away from the mall, according to the station.

Mall policy and safety background

Bayshore has not been casual about teen traffic. The mall previously rolled out a Parental Guidance Required policy aimed at limiting large groups of unsupervised minors. Under the rule, visitors 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult on weekend afternoons…
