Teen charged in killing of 14-year-old boy at Burnsville apartment

A young man has been charged in the fatal shooting of 14-year-old Charles Darnell Moore at a Burnsville apartment complex in February.

The Dakota County Attorney’s Office announced that Da’Carri Rennel Hood, 19, of St. Paul, is charged with second-degree murder in Moore’s killing on the evening of February 9.

Burnsville PD were called to the Glen Apartments at 13000 Harriet Avenue South at 10:30 p.m. that night and found Moore lying face down in a hallway with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Witnesses at the scene told police that they had entered the apartment complex with several others, but when they arrived at a stairwell they “encountered a male wearing a ski mask pointing a gun,” per Dakota County Attorney Kathy Keena…
