NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A man is accused of defrauding the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans Workers Compensation program out of $37,000.
According to the Louisiana Attorney General’s office, 51-year-old Warren Murphy reported being injured on the job and was placed in a nonwork status by a doctor. As a condition of his workers compensation benefits, Murphy was required to sign and submit Monthly Report of Earning forms disclosing any work activity, self-employment or income during the reporting period.

Agents learned that during the months of August, September and October of 2022, and February and March of 2023, Murphy was allegedly performing work as a disc jockey at local venues under the name DJ Hardhead. Murphy allegedly failed to report this work activity on the required forms.
Louisiana Bureau of Investigations agents secured an arrest warrant for Murphy. He was already incarcerated at the Orleans Parish Jail on charges pertaining to first-degree rape and intentional exposure to AIDS, and so was rebooked on the new charge…
