A Rockton family has agreed to a $52 million settlement after their child was struck by a vehicle while boarding a school bus on Jan. 10, 2025. The student suffered a traumatic brain injury and now needs round-the-clock care and a wheelchair, and the payout is intended to cover long-term medical and family-related expenses, according to court filings.
How the crash unfolded
The collision happened around 7 a.m. on Jan. 10 in the 2700 block of Latham Road near La Harve Drive as the student was getting on a school bus.
