ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – A 24-year-old man was arrested on Sunday afternoon after police say they found two handguns and cannabis during a warrant check in Rockford.
Jeffrey Carter, of Rockford, is charged with:
- Two counts of aggravated unlawful use of a weapon
- Three counts of aggravated resisting
- Possession of cannabis
- No valid FOID
- Outstanding warrants
Around 4:45 p.m., March 29, police say they executed a warrant at a home in the 1600 block of Charles Street. Officers say a man, later identified as Carter, ran from them.
According to police, after a brief struggle, the man was taken into custody. Investigators say they found two handguns and 25 grams of cannabis during the incident…
