Suspect held at gunpoint after alleged assault at Colorado state park

An incident involving a suspected impaired driver at a state park in Colorado resulted in a ranger holding a park visitor at gunpoint on Sunday, March 29.

According to a press release on the matter from Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the incident took place at St. Vrain State Park, which is located about 28 miles north of Denver in Firestone. A park ranger reportedly conducted a traffic stop on a suspected impaired driver within the park. The suspect allegedly didn’t comply with the ranger’s commands and started to become aggressive, allegedly assaulting the ranger.

At that point, the ranger reportedly deployed a taser device, which was ultimately ineffective. The ranger then reportedly held the suspect at gunpoint and called for backup to be deployed to the scene…
