Rio Grande water levels dropping as demand increases

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District warns water supplies are already tightening, with river flows down to about 30% of the levels seen in early March.

The Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District said early March snowmelt briefly raised river flows and let crews start irrigation deliveries earlier than usual.
