A Latin-inspired coffee shop called Un Cafecito has opened on Salt Lake City’s North Temple corridor, bringing drinks such as horchata lattes and cafe de olla alongside a community-centered mission from founder Cynthia Lemus.
“North Temple is a vibrant and diverse part of Salt Lake City, and that’s one of the reasons I wanted to open Un Cafecito there,” Lemus recently told Daily Coffee News. “As a Latina business owner, I wanted to create a space where people from all backgrounds feel welcome and represented.”
That sense of identity extends throughout the cafe, where artwork includes a Frida Kahlo-inspired logo with desert arches that represent Utah. Other pieces playfully tie into Lemus’ Mexican and Peruvian background, creating a shop that is as much about cultural expression as it is about coffee.
