‘We can work to mitigate their impact to Surprise’: Mayor addresses concerns about ICE facility, which could hold more than 500 individuals at a time

SURPRISE, Ariz. — The City of Surprise is addressing concerns regarding a facility that could house more than 500 undocumented immigrants at a time.

Mayor of Surprise Kevin Sartor met with city leadership, the Department of Homeland Security, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Washington, D.C., on March 19, and shared the outcomes from the meeting at a news conference on March 30.
