Man arrested in standoff at Zip’s makes first appearance in court

SPOKANE, Wash. – The man arrested on Thursday after a lengthy SWAT standoff at a Spokane Zip’s Drive-In made his first appearance in court Monday.

According to court documents, Joseph Lee Sutton-Kaley is facing charges of intimidating a public servant, assault in the second degree, obstruction and resisting arrest.

Bond was set over the weekend at $10,000, but it was increased to $25,000 by the judge at the request of the prosecution. However, if his designated crisis responder determines that he needs to be hospitalized, he can be taken there. He’s also been ordered by the court not to go to any Zip’s location…
