Spokane Valley traffic stop leads to theft and drug arrests

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — What started as a routine traffic stop for missing license plates ended with two arrests in Spokane Valley.

On March 27 at approximately 10:00 a.m., Spokane Valley Police attempted to pull over the vehicle to initiate a traffic stop, but the driver made an abrupt turn into a parking lot in the 12200 block of E. Sprague Avenue, police said.

During questioning, investigators said one of the passengers was ordered to exit the vehicle after he dropped a glass pipe with black residue on the floorboard.

The passenger refused. The deputy grabbed his hands, pulled him from the vehicle and detained him in handcuffs, police said…
