Summerville Police find ChatGPT searches linking new suspect to Sonic shooting

SUMMERVILLE, S.C. (WCSC) — A second arrest has been made in a deadly Sonic shooting after police discovered he allegedly helped the murder suspect flee to Bali.

Roger Daniel Jr., 34, is charged with accessory after the fact of murder.

The Summerville Police Department said Daniel provided assistance to Anthony Prioleau Jr., who is accused of murdering Kymani Baker, as Prioleau worked to escape to Indonesia to avoid charges and prosecution.

Additionally, an affidavit shows that, from the day of the murder until the day Prioleau got on a plane to flee the country, Daniel was found to have made several inquiries to ChatGPT regarding evidence reliability as well as preferred or affordable countries that will not extradite those suspected of crimes back to the United States:

  • Jan. 9 – “How reliable is fingerprints in a murder weapon?”
  • Jan. 12 – “Countries with non extradition”
  • Jan. 12 – “Cheapest but best quality of life with non extradition”
  • Jan. 12 – “Countries with non extradition clause”
  • Jan. 12 – “Cheapest countries on the non extradition list”
  • Jan. 15 – “What is dha for security checks”
  • Jan. 15 – “What is DHA”
  • Jan. 15 – “What DHA means in Bali”
  • Jan. 15 – “DHA in Bali”

There were also messages in that affidavit between Daniel, Prioleau and Prioleau’s mother regarding the flight as well as money transfers linking Daniel to Prioleau’s escape…
