Firefighters called for smoke alarm at historic Kalamazoo theater; owners give update

KALAMAZOO, MI — The cause of a smoke alarm at a historic Kalamazoo theater has been determined.

Police vehicles and fire trucks pulled up to the Kalamazoo State Theatre before 6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29, blocking traffic on South Burdick Street.

Firefighters opened fire hydrants in the area as others went inside to investigate inside the Kalamazoo State Theatre at 404 S. Burdick St.
