JERSEY CITY, N.J. (PIX11) — Jersey City students celebrated the opening of a new soccer mini-pitch at Joseph H. Brensinger School – P.S. 17 on Monday.
It is the first of 26 mini-pitches set to open across under-resourced areas of New York and New Jersey, thanks to the U.S. Soccer Foundation and the FIFA World Cup NYNJ Host Committee.

The partnership aims to increase access to soccer for at least 25,000 students, as well as train at least 1,000 coaches as mentors in youth-serving organizations.
