‘We don’t get any of that benefit:’ Garden City homeowners deal with erosion as renourishment passes them by

GARDEN CITY, S.C. (WBTW) — While beach renourishment continues along parts of the Grand Strand, some homeowners at the southern end of Garden City say their stretch of the shoreline is being left behind.

Residents in the Inlet Harbor say erosion has been a problem for years, and they worry the next major storm could make conditions even worse.

“It’s really concerning sometimes when there’s a renourishment project and we don’t get any of that benefit” Schipp Johnston, a homeowner and previous HOA president at the Inlet Harbor, told News13…
