South Nashville residents claim delineators are causing safety impact to drivers and emergency vehicles

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Some South Nashville residents have voiced concerns over traffic delineators causing issues for drivers.

The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure installed delineators on Bell Road earlier this year as part of a safety project to protect cyclists. Neighbors claim the new delineators have become a problem for drivers trying to avoid emergency vehicles. Some said they’ve swerved on or in-between the delineators for fire trucks to get by.

Sergeant Steffani Dahlstrom with the Metro Nashville Police Department’s Southeast Precinct said that when police vehicles are approaching with lights and sirens, move as far right as possible, carefully cross the intersection/ turn if necessary, or stop depending on the situation…
